    Bunch Custom Rods

    Guys,
Had Jeff Bunch of Bunch's Custom Rods do some work for me. The first project for him was to refurbish an old Daiwa Crankbait rod that was given to me as a kid. I asked him to clean it up, and to replace the old solid cork handle with a custom split grip, and replace a missing eye. I was leary about what he could do with it, cause the rod had been sittin in my dads half dirt basement for sometime, (needless to say the dirt dobbers and mice took their toll on it). I met Jeff, and delievered the rod, and was up-front with him, that I completely understood if he couldn't do anything with it. He told me he thought he could and should have it back to me in a week or so.

Well needless to say not only did I get it back in a week, it looked like a brand new rod. I was amazed, I thought it had came straight from the factory. It had some custom wrap on it from the factory, that Jeff touched up, and where the rods new split grip is, now has some matching wrap to add. It was a sweet touch.

Oh, almost forgot, the Daiwa had a pretty significant bend towards the tip. Well good ole Jeff removed nearly all of it.

The second project, was a custom built St. Croix rod that my brother in-law built for me for Christmas. It was a sweet rod to begin with, my brother is very meticulous, about what he does, (well everything he does) he's an engineer! It had a solid cork handle on it as well and was in pefect shape. I really love the look and feel of the split handle rods, that are becoming so popular today, and asked Jeff to replace the reel seat, and change out the grip to the split grip.

Got the rod back from Jeff, and couldn't wait to hit the water, that rod felt good before when my brother in-law made it. But now it feels 110% better, it seemed like I was a much accurate caster, and could place the bait exactly where I wanted it. I can only assume that the balance point must have changed a tad bit, cause even my brother in-law, who I fish with, loved the way it felt, and agreed that it completely made the rod feel better. He even commented on the superb work Jeff did.

So all that being said, if you have any custom rod or rods that need to be built, and or refurbished, give Jeff Bunch of Bunches Custom Rods a call. He's a super nice guy and does great work and the price was extremely reasonable.

    Thanks to Jeff

Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!
