How to tie silicone skirt layers on jigs?

I will appreciate any guidance regarding how to tie skirt layers on jigs. I've tied many with rubber, but my efforts to using skirt layers haven't been very successful. Thanks for the advice.

I use an old worn out collar to hold the skirt together while I tie it. I use wire to tie it on too. Wrap around twice and twist the ends together until it's snug enough that you can't spin it around the jig head and cut off the twist as close as you can. It also makes the skirt spread out more. I've been doing a lot of smallmouth fishing this fall and the skirts were being pulled out of the collar pretty bad so I started doing this to keep my jigs together and it worked like a charm. I hope that helps.

You can also use nylon jig tying thread to tie your skirts on.

Copper craft wire from Michaels, JoAnnes etc... 20-24 gauge works best.

Yep! And if you're a cheap bastage like me, you'll get some scrap 3 pair telephone drop wire free from a phone tech.

I thought I was the only one that matched/contrasted jig skirts ties with cat 5 network wires. Comes in solid green/brown/blue/white and stripes.
