Can you repour ZOOM or other soft plastics?

I have a ton of ZOOM soft plastics that pile up in the bottom of the boat. My question is can I heat and repour these little guys using a microwave?

You can, but it is not a good idea. It will be a complete mess. Saint.

I take a soldering iron and remelt the hook tears back together....Sometimes you can take a really bad one and use it for a "sacraficial" to fill in big holes on other baits that are not as bad.

You can also melt two diff. baits together and create some really neat baits that no fish has seen.

A lot of people use glue for repairs but the iron is cheap and lasts a long time.....

Yes you can. What kind of baits are you looking to repour?

i dont have a lizard mold. If your really interested you can buy one from
    http://www.del-mart.com
    or
    http://www.lurecraft.com

I would reconmend del-mart as the mold would be alumunim and pour very nice baits. But it will be 30+ some dollars. At lure craft you can get them for under $20

I wouldn't recommend remelting the plastics. Besides the fact that the smell will be terrible, depending on what the manufacturer put in the plastics, such as salt and scent, most the time the colors will not hold up. Depending on what color glitter is in the baits, they will bleed and ruin your colors. The plastic the big manufactures use doesn't act quite the same as the plastic us hand pour guys use.

I use del-mart molds and I tried remelting plastic like you want to do and would not recommend it. It stained my mold really bad and took A LOT of work to clean it all the way. If you buy a mold and pour your own plastics with the plastic that comes by the gallon like Calhoun plastics, you can melt those down after the baits get all shredded. Most of the plastic that big lure companies use for their baits is of pour quality. Remember, they are not thinking of you repouring the plastic and they are dealing with bulk and want to keep costs low.
