I asked this on the Rods & Reels forum but thought perhaps it might be best answered here. I've got a 6'6" MH Rogue rod that the tip's broken on. It isn't much - maybe 3/4" to 1" - and I'm considering taking it to a local rod shop to just have the tip replaced. How much will the loss of just that much rod tip affect the action of the rod?

If it is the mb664 that you were thinking about, not a lot in my opinion. That blank has a mod-fast action so it might make it just a little stiffer, but I don't think you would notice. I think you would be fine having a local guy stick a tip on it.
Just my opinion though, I am not a builder. Just fished a bunch of Rogues.

Thanks for the help, Steve. I had our local rod guy put on another tip and can't tell any difference at all. As it turned out, only about 1/2" was broken off so it wasn't any big deal.
