Modification Questions

I want to get into building my own rods. But, before I do that, I have a few questions about some of my existing rods.
1) Is there any way to replace a cork handle?
2) Is there any way to put a longer handle on an existing rod?

I have acouple of rods where I didn't take too good of care of the cork handles and a couple of rods that I wish had longer handles.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know these are simple questions to most of you, but I am extremely new to this type of stuff.

that will give you a start on how to shape and glue cork

lengthening a handle is fairly simple, the hardest part is finding a piece of blank to use to entend the handle portion. You need to have an assortment of broken or crappy blanks to choose from and find the right size
