    Luke, No secrets here......................

you looking to do a two or three strand band?

THere are a couple of ways of doing it................here is one way that is done by itself instead of inserting it into the main guide wrap.......................

take a piece of thread that you plan on using for the trim band, about 12-18" long(the piece will become shorter once you get the hang of it!)........................
with the rod on a set of supports or your wrapper whichever you have.................
take your left hand(if your right handed), place your index finger horizontal along the blank. With one end of the thread being held between your left thumb and palm take your right hand and wrap the piece of thread around the blank and your index finger 3 or 4 times......................then take the end of it and pass it through the tunnel made between your index finger and the blank. then take the other end and pass it through the opposite way. Now take the two ends and after you remove your index finger pull them slowly to tighten them to the blank. do not snug them up until you have them in place besides the guidewrap..........And do not tighten them to much as the thread will break easily. I normally leave the knot on the underside of the blank.
Next I will cut the tag ends so that I have about 1/2" on each...put a drop of CP on th knot and once it is dry take a pair of nail clippers and snip them close............
Once you get the finish on if there is a slight lump..............just slice it using a razor blade and apply your second coat of finish and you will never know it was there!

The other way of doing it incorporates it into your guidewrap...............Try it this way and if you want to try it the other drop me an email......................

    Good Luck!
