    fishing cold dirty water

    well, i prefished a tourney today thinking water was going to be clear and cold but after a wind and rainstorm the water was between 39 and 46 degrees and dirty. how the hell do you guys fish water like this? fish were staging in 12 to 18 feet of water next to flats.

    if the waters too dirty for a jerk bait. I would drag a jig very slowly. Cold and dirty is probably the toughest conditions to fish

    Derek idea is a good one. I would try dragging a black/red jig with a large trailer in the staging area. I would also slow roll a spinnerbait with a large colorado blade. The big problem is that this is prefishing. If the tourney is the next day or two, you can pattern for dark, cold water. If the tourney is several days or a week later, the water may have cleared up.
