Questions for those who have placed their own cover in lake

Guys i have made me some cover that i want to drop in the lake but i got a few questions for thise who have done this before. One what type of areas would you seek out to place the cover main lake or creeks and do you try to put if somewhere people wouldnt think to fish? Second question how many pieces of cover is needed at a spot to attract and hold a decent number of fish?

assuming all is legal, they work great in a straight line off a point or ledge. place a marker for a start point, if you have enough, place a number around the marker in a circle..pull the marker.....then move off a bit, drop another marker, and place a few more....repeat until you run out of cover.

Lot of different ways to sink cover/brush...yes I know people that sink brush in non-descript locations that may keep other people from "stumbling on it...Another possibility that works is sinking a small sinlge piece on a spot that already may hold fish...this can help you zero in on an exact target with too many casts...an open boat slip, for example, to potentially position the fish in an exact spot.
