    Spro Frog ?'s

I have recently had a little luck on some spro frogs and was wanting to get some more colors but had some questions about frogging in general.Which size do you use or have had the best luck with? Do you find you get more bites on the smaller one or more quality bites on the bigger or does it matter? What decides if you use the popper type or regular type? Do you have any luck in more open water or around docks at all? We dont have to many grassy lakes here so I was just wondering. Thanks for any input you may have.

Another one. How do you get them to walk the dog? I have trimmed the skirt and have ruined a few with no luck. Whats the secret.

I like to use bobbys perfect frog better for walking the dog. To me it works alot better then the spros just my own opinon.

Bobby's Perfect Frog does walk easier than the Spro, but I throw both. You can't really walk them like a spook with a fast gliding action. It's more of a short, twitchy walk the dog.

For sizes I only throw the original Spro and the Bobby's Perfect. The Spro is slightly smaller than Bobby's. I'll start playing with the poppin' frogs this season on days when the bite is tough, or to milk an area where I've had a few blow ups.

I've never really fished them around hard cover up here. That is normally where I toss buzzers, spooks etc. For kicks I'm going to try skipping docks with frogs this year. It might be a chore on my big froggin stick, but I don't mind putting in the practice time.

I'm not sure if anyone has really mentioned how to walk the dog with the frogs yet. I try to twitch the frog then immediately give slack back into the line...twitching it without allowing slack doesn't really allow for side to side motions.

If you throw hard, jointed swimbaits, then you can think of it as the same motion as trying to make the swimbait turn 180 or 360...twitch and give slack. I know that this works for me and hope it does for you too...I read it somewhere but can't find where, exactly.

    Re: (TravisRush)

Thanks Travisrush! Maybe thats what I'm not doing, it seems when I pop it it just bobs up and down and not really side to side.

If you are not using braid, try it.

I read somewhere that Rojas trims one leg a 1/2" shorter than the other in order to make the Spro walk a little easier. Also pop it on slack line, that allows the bait turn.

Some good frog info here. Need to look around in the index for it.
