    Re: MONO VS FLUOROCARBON (skeetsRus)

I use mono for crank baits, braid for flipping wood and spinnerbaits, and Fluorocarbon for the bottom bouncers like jigs, rigs, and shakey heads. I haven't started using fluorocarbon for crank baits yet, but I should give it a try.

    Re: MONO VS FLUOROCARBON (skeetsRus)

I've pretty much gone to all flourocarbon. I have 1 braid rod for my frogs, but that is it. I also have a back up spinning reel with 10lb. mono for those those tough days and the fish want a slow falling senko. Other than that, all flouro.

I use monofilament for topwaters and fluorocarbon for just about everything else.

    Re: MONO VS FLUOROCARBON (skeetsRus)

I hardly ever use a true mono as it has way too much stretch..
Floro I use for everything vertical
    spinnerbaits I use a copoly
cranks Ill use floro or a nylon like shooter defier or similar.
    same with Tops..

I really have begun to like the Berkley 100% Flourocarbon. I use it on shakeyheads, T-rig, Cranks, Jigs, it is awesome. Have braid for flippin. only have mono on top-water.

I use 100% Floro on everything but topwater, the only other exception is on a stiff CB rod I'll use
p-line floroclear, little more stretch. But I've got away from that somewhat and just use 100% with a more forgiven rod action.

    good luck,

    Danny

mono for prop or chug topwater

    Re: MONO VS FLUOROCARBON (tnbassin)

i went back to useing mono on all my rods except one i use for deep and or clear water apps.big game i can change it every time out if i want .w/ flouro it was to cost prohibitive to change as often and i was breaking off too much. that doesnt include my rods w/ braid.

    Re: MONO VS FLUOROCARBON (skeetsRus)

    Pitching docks: Flouro
    Flipping grass: Braid
Topwater: P-Line Flouroclear (It's not 100% Flouro, it only has a coating of flouro; therefore it is way less dense AND still totally invisible to the fish)
    EVERYTHING ELSE: Flouro
    Good luck

    Re: MONO VS FLUOROCARBON (Preston)

I'm a fluoro guy but I don't have alot of heavy cover in my clear spotted bass waters.

Here is a little article I wrote a few years ago on the advantages and disadvantages of fluorocarbon that might help.

Re: MONO VS FLUOROCARBON (T Mike)

I use a co-polymer on nearly all fast moving reaction baits and fluorocarbon on jigs, worms, jerkbaits etc.
