Topwater, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits should do you well. Post this again a couple of weeks before you make your trip to get the real skinny as to what's going on. Also check out http://www.fishin.com for the Tennessee or Kentucky fishing report on Ky Lake by Capt Dave Stewart. He guides there and has one of the best reports you'll be able to find. New one is posted every Friday.
Drag a 1/4 oz green pump jig w/craw trailer in back of creeks and dont forget the awesome trickworm and lizard bite
Dave will have the answer, just follow the reports. GREAT time of the year to be on KY lake. " Flower bite"
The bass spawn will be anywhere from mid april to early may, late april is the average.
I fish Lake Barkley, fish all bays within 6 miles of Denumbers bay. Spawning bass will be in and neer the yellow flowers in the back of the bays....
Use 1/8-1/4 oz texas rigged not pegged baby brush hog or zoom lizards in green pumpkin, solid black 7" Berkley power worm or a green pumpkin 5" senco, all white 3/8 oz double willow spinnerbait.
If there not in the yellow flowers move to the rocky points within the bays and use a 200 series bandit crankbait in rootbeer or rootbeer chartruse or a ratttle trap. make shure there bumping off the rocks... Good luck and let me know how you do![]()
