Does anyone recommend any maps that show fishing spots? How do you prepare for and out of region fishing trip? Any posts/suggestions are welcome and appreciated. I am going to start fishing different lakes in TN.

if you ever find any maps let me know. i dont have a gps on my boat, so those maps are useless for the most part with the exception of navigation. it makes fishing a guessing game for me. what lakes are you thinking about fishing? old hickory, priest, center hill, dale hollow? how familiar with these lakes are you? i migh pay you to take me out. lol

I fish Old Hickory and Percy Priest pretty regularly. I am a transplant from Mobile, AL so I am still trying to learn the lakes here. Because of the flooding I went to Dale Hollow this weekend for the first time Saturday. I caught a 5 lb largemouth and that was it. I drove all the way to Dale Hollow and all I caught was a largemouth... If it wasnt a pig i would be upset. Anyways, once the lakes get back to n ormal around here, hit me up and we will go to one of the Nashville lakes.

Study countour lines, find creek channels and locate depth change features. Without a GPS you can still get close to a spot and then use you sonar to zero in.
