    Line questions

Last year I decided to try flurocarbon and had mixed feelings. I loved the sensitivity of it, but had knot trouble. I have not given up, and am about to spool a couple of reels up with Seaguar InvizX for try #2. I noticed when I was at store, right next to the InviseX was Seaguar Red Label and it was exactly 1/2 the price of the invizX...anyone know the difference? Did I spend more money than I should have by buying the more expensive of the 2?

A general opinion question - even when using mono, I use backing since 1/2 of the line never leaves the spool anyway, but with fluoro cosing $20 for 200 yards its a requirement for the budget minded person...my question is, is there really any reason to change the backing? (I use 17lb Big Game for backing, but like I said, it NEVER comes off reel during fishing, right?)

NO need to change the backing but I prefer using a smaller line (6 lb), it lays smoother on the spool. I've only used Seaguar Carbon Pro, but have NOT heard a lot of good reports on the Red Label. I've started using about 70 yards of line, that way I get three fills out of a filler spool.
