How to Keep Color on Braid???

Hey guys, I like using braid in the grass and such but it seems like the color doesn't stay on there too long. Do any of you have any tips or tricks to keep the color on there? The line is still perfectly good, it just turns white as a ghost. I normally use Power Pro or Suffix braid.

You can color the last few feet of the business end of your line with a permanent marker. At one time someone made markers specifically for this purpose, but I don't know if they are still available. If you only mark the last few feet, the line will be less visible to the fish, but the remaining faded line will be more visible to you.

Buy a braid that doesn't fade or turn white. Have not used it yet but Spiderwire Ultracast is not suppose to fade or change colors plus its smoother then other braids. Was watching a vblog on Tacklewarehouse site about frog gear and the guy was talking about the braid. Might check it out, I thought it was interesting and will buy some to try it out.

I use Stren braid and it does fade but not to white? Color is the last thing I worry about with braid though.

By a Spike-It dye marker with the red tip, cut a V in it. You will have line scented with garlic as apposed to the chemicals in a regular permanent marker. I don't know if it makes a difference, but it makes me feel better.

There are a couple different braid conditioners available. Kind of like reel magic, but for braid. I apply it couple of times a day. Makes it easier to throw and helps with fading. I use Power Pro also...the stuff I use is called Braid Aid by the Professor. Read up on it..

Get some Izorline Brutally Strong Braid. I put some on my flipping stick last May and it still looks the same as the day I spooled it up. It would be safe to say I have fished that rod over 125 times since I spooled it up.

KVD Line and Lure was developed specifically for braid and flourocarbon, although it also works great on mono. It is not oil based like the other products which just coat your line and come off after a short time. Line and Lure is a polymer based conditioner that actually bonds to your line. This bond can only be removed by friction. Because of that, the line is actually made stronger and will help braid retain it's color, in addition to greatly enhancing it's casting abilities. Put some on the night before and I think you will be impressed.
