Most Fishermen are also hunters. So I was thinking which animal in our above the water enviorment is most like the bass. - In theory - by hunting that animal and spending time in the woods when I can't make it to the lake will make me a better fisherman. Does anyone beleive in that or am I just nuts.
Probably turkeys... Bad thing is spring turkey season is usually when fishing is best so you'd be better off to just go fishing.
They are aggravating SOB's sometimes, just like bass. But patience, persistence, and flawless execution usually pays off similarily.

ill agree with that....i love to turkey hunt but they aggrivate me more than fishing does

Elk - can and will change patterns daily. Can put miles in between you in no time.
Turkey's for me for sure.
Easy to spook, GREAT eye sight (our lake is pretty clear so long casts = good camo for Turkey hunting), semi predictable pattern wise but prone to up and leaving for no good reason (at least that we know of).
You've got to call em both up with something they like (sounds, sights, etc) and hope you can get close enough and just happen to be selling what they are buying that day if you are going to capitalize.
Was thinking about that last night oddly enough; how similar the two creatures are to pursue while fishing from my dock.

I'd agree to that also. Elk hunting and turkey hunting are very similar judging firsthand from the handful of trips I have been elk hunting.
well those big bucks stay in the heavy cover most of the time but come out just before dark. They are often nabbed during breeding season but are pretty smart the rest of the year. The biggest bass and bucks are harvested by guys who have just started.
