Does SAFE mode require a reset of CPU

I was out one day when my low oil light came on. Went home added oil and went out to fish tourney and my boat will not get on plane now. It will get up to about 10 miles an hour? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Wondering if low oil alarm put motor into SAFE mode and if so how do I reset it?
    thanks,
    Marty

"Low oil" does not force the motor into Safe mode, it is only a warning, so the two are not related. Are you sure it was not "no oil"? Did the light go out after the refilling?

Engine is a E225DI5100444 and serial number is 4WRBS212851104477. Also do you know whom I can call to find out what is left on the warranty? Thanks much for the help! Marty (Taylorsville, KY)

It was the low oil light that was on and yes it did go out once I filled it up. There is one other item that I do not recall happening. It used to be when I typed in the code and hit start the motor would beep and go through its testing and then I would start the motor. Now it still beeps but when I start the motor it beeps again.

    Mike,

Could the issue be with my primer bulb. Was out there running it in my driveway and the bulb never gets hard it feels like it has air in it????

It is possible that the TPS is the problem, if it starts and idles fine but will not accelerate. If it is in safe mode you should get a check engine or no oil light. Either way you need to hook it up to the diagnostic software to troubleshoot it.

It's possible that the motor started when you pushed on the hotfoot, or the cable is not pulling the throttle arm all the back to the stop. If the EMM sees the throttle partly open when starting, it will not rev up until the motor is turned off and the throttle back to dead idle.

Had this happen to me. From time to time I would hit hotfoot before starting boat then the boat would only idle. Thought it was tps. Mechanic nicelly explained it was what I was doing was causing this. He did make a slight adjustment to the linkage so far so good.

I had similar problem. Mine turned out to be a blown fuse under the cowling. Mine is an 05 225HO DI. Once fuse was replaced all was well. I thought it was in safe mode as well. Was told the fuse was ahead of oil injectors. Good luck and maybe yours will be just as simple.
