if you catch a fish early...

how long will you fish the same bait if you dont get bit again? You know you catch a fish on your first few casts then time goes on without another bite. How long do you stay with that initial bait?

In the spring I usally have at least 5 crankbaits tied on 2 flippin sticks 2 spinner baits and a shakey head. To answer your question i may put six different baits on 1 spot before I leave it. i would really have to be dialed in on fish to throw one bait all day and even then I don't thank I could do it. But I think people get thinkin about baits to much and not enough on the the type of structure the fish are on. I see a lot of people running the bank in the spring catch a fish and keep running the bank not concerned on what structure the fish came off of. If I get on a pattern I can catch fish on diffrent baits, just have to put it were the live.

depends if im searchin for fish or fishin an area that i know is holdin fish. if im searchin i'll have several different types of baits tied on and fish em all when i come upon a likely spot.i.e a point,a drop, certain type of cover.personally. i dont often change colors or sizes when searchin, unless i lose confidence in that bait.
if im on fish and i've caught a fish and i dont get bit again then i'll change often trying different things to find what they want or to trigger another bite.the main thing is not to lose confidence in what your doin or the bait your usin.

If I stop catching fish in a certain area where I know there's fish I'll switch to a different color in the same bait, often times thats all it takes.

well this past summer, throwing a custom hot lips i had been getting bit on all week of practice, tournament day did not get a bite until 1:00 but boy they were good, caught over 22lbs in less than an hour. But there is a stubborn side of that when you stick it out and zero.
