    Honest opinions only....

Do you think this color jig will catch anything? If so, what time of year might be best for this color? I'm experimenting putting together colors that are different than what I normally use. So tell me your honest opinion of this jig. I paired it with a trailer that matches nicely.

I fish that color late spring, early fall. 55* to 70* water.

I like the looks of it. I dont know if it will be a good color for you or not. I guess that depends on the color of the crayfish species you have in your bodies of water, and also what time of year it is.

Here's a site that Don A posted back in the day, discussing colors:
    http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread?id=78238

Also, notice while you are reading that link there's a link to the NC wildlife site. On that site they discuss species of crayfish and have lots of pics. Maybe your state has one to and you can look it up.

Since I live in NC, this linke was invaluable to me while setting up jigs. Even after piddling around on that site and trying to "match the hatch", I still find my best producers are some sort of green pumpkin, watermelon, black/blue, and brown/black/green of some sort.

That color should work great on Table Rock, I usually add a little orange, when the water cools in the fall. In more stained water I'd try it most anytime of year.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the color matching. My best producing jig/trailer last year was an All Terrain Rock Jig in Blue/Black with a Zoom chunk on it. The chunk was a discontinued color that is the brightest chartreuse you've ever seen, it practically glowed in the water. Did well with other color matching setups, but that oddball one was what I knew would get bit if something else didn't work.

Nice looking jig... Use colors that you are confident with. Thats the best color.
