here we go again.......anyone?
'00 'rude 175 ficht. had a few wrinkles earlier this year, got'em all tended too. went out sat with my bro and his ol'lady. runnin' and gun'n just fine all day. anyways, on the way back to the launch, about 3 1/2 miles from it, we hit a tad of rough water with all of the other boat traffic out there. we're riding through the wakes and of coarse bounc'n around here and there cuttn'n through them, but nothing bad at all. suddenly, without any alarms or anything, the rpm's just cut way down. so i lay off and get out of the channel, shut her down and raise the motor. it was almost acting like there was something wrapped up around the prop. nothing there, pull the cowl and look around, all lines are intact and stuff. plenty of oil in the resovoir. motor fires right up without pause, but can't get over 3200 r's. also, though i can't find the words to describe it, it just didn't sound right, i'd almost have to say it sounded like it was only running on a few cylinders. get her home, pulled the plugs, they look a little rough but still getting spark. i thought maybe the system check crapped out, and the s.l.o.w. was kicked in, but my manual say's it won't go over 1800 r's when activated. i just don't know where to begin to look. injector's, plugs etc. my luck, the oil pump crapped and seized a cylinder. any suggestions or ideas? thanks.

Re: here we go again.......anyone? (moto)
Pull the lower drain plug on the gearcase first, be careful, if ou have a problem there will be alot of pressure.
If that's good, get the compression guage out.
