    Float N fl question

Do you have to use a "fixed" bobber or could I use a slip bobber but put a bobber stopper on at the desired depth I want it to be at? I'm having a hard time throwing the line with a long length of line between the ixed bobber and fly.

Re: Float N fl question (Paul8877)

The fixed bobber is a must. Many of the biggest fish you catch on a Float N' Fly will not pull the bobber under. They will just come up under the fly and take the weight of the fly off of the bobber. This will make the bobber tip up on its side.

This is my favorite way of fishing for smallmouth after the water dips below 50 degrees.

I'm really looking forward to trying this technique in Alabama this year. And everything I've read aggrees with using the fixed float. Let us know if you had any luck.
