How do you organize your soft plastics?

Currently I keep my plastics in gallon size zip lock bags. One for floating/finesse worms, one for Senko style, one for creatures etc. Each bag contains plastics in their original packages.

There's got to be a more organized way of doing this. Do most people transfer them to compartmentalized boxes? I thought I'd read that plastics should be kept in their original (or similar) bags to retain freshness.

Any ideas?

Leave them in the original packs and use the COOKS GO-TO system.

You're doing exactly what I do, and I agree. When you have, what seems like, every creature bait out there in ever color, it gets to be just too much for those bags.

I've heard of folks using shoeboxes to organize them. I think that's my next choice. But, I'll still need the bags for when I go fishing with someone.

CooksGoTo or similar doesnt do me anygood without a boat, unless I want to pimp out the 5gal bucket

i keep mine in gal. bags clearly marked of whats in them .i keep those in a canvas gym bag.i have a med. tacle bag that i use as a day bag.i keep the plastics i use the most and for that particular water w/ hardware on the deck.so far it works out good.hardly ever do i have to goto my bulk bag unless im scramblin to find a bait that'll work.

I have 2 "worm bags." One is a BPS worm bag that has 40 ziploc style bags that are on a 2 ringed binders on both sides. It has 2 sides and sells for about $40.

My other is a Falcon worm bag. it is just an open bag that holds 40 bags (50-60 for me )

I know....I need to cull out some soft plastics I dont use. But, it's just hard to do. There's only a few of them that havent produced for me at one time or another.

I'm a junk fisherman at heart. I throw everything I own and the kitchen sink at them until I find something that works. I guess I need to get just a handful of things and stick with them. I'll probably take your advice and start the thinning process.

Sounds like me...and when you get a bigger boat...its more room to store more crap. Thought I had a ton of tackle when I had a TR186, moved upto a TR22 and I've not even got it half full...if a man could only catch one fish for every bait he had, he'd have it made

Spares and overstocks stay at home in original bags, in plastic shoe boxes from Walmart. I've got 14 or 15 of them marked, lizards, FF, Grubs, 8 inch worms, ten inch worms, tubes, etc. In the boat I usually take about two bags of what ever baits and colors, I might think will work, using a combination of Falcon, BPS, and Tackle Logic binders. I don't pack everything I "might" use, I try to have a plan and only take baits that fit the plan. Very few items stay in the boat year round, I've still usually have to much tackle.
