    Good line for a baitcaster

I am getting a Curado 7.1, and I would like to know what lines you guys use, and lines I should stay away from. I am gonna be using crankbaits, spinnerbaits, topwaters, and maybe plastics(and jigs) so, Let me know, I have been using Trilene for a while, but I haven't used baitcasters, so let me know what you guys think. I am new to this board, but not new to fishing :)
    Thanks guys
    Rich

Welcome aboard I can only speak for clear water situations, where I am almost constantly using a Fluorocarbon line. There are a lot of good lines out there, you will just have to experiment with them, some good ones are P Line,Maxima, Seagur (too expensive), Gamma, etc. probably 10 to 16 lbs. on the Curado depending on water clarity. Speaking for myself, my experiences have been bad with Vanish, and Bass Pro line . Good Luck

for a multi purpose set up like you mentioned flouro would probably be my last choice only because its not great for topwater due to the fact it sinks and maybe a littlle stiff for light baits. id go with a 12-14lb copoly or mono xt type. some copolys would be p-line, gamma, mccoy

As has been said, if you're gonna throw floating topwater baits with it floro would not be a good choice. If you're gonna be fishing realy heavy cover I'd go with braid, you cant go wrong with Power pro. I recomend #65 because the larger diameter won't bite into its self as bad as the smaller. If your not fishing the thick stuff, then I'd go with mono. I use stren clear, or stren low vis green in #14 on my rigs, but I mostly use mono on top water baits, and use floro on everything else.

If you've got confidence in the Trilene, just get a spool in the size you like, maybe 15 lb for an all around starting point.

Re: Good line for a baitcaster (20_lb_sack)

Thanks for the responces guys, and thanks for the welcome. I have another pole I could throw Topwaters with, but I will probably use the Curado for Crankbaits ,jigs, worms, spinnerbaits, I am not a big topwater fan, I just throw a frog or mouse on once ina while for weedbeds, and the floating weeds. Thanks guys

for most rigs like Crankbaits, jigs, worms and anything that is meant to stay underwater i liek FLororcarbon if its topwaters i got on Mono and if its super nasty stuff like grass or wood and lots of it i have braid
as far as the Floro i like the P-Line Halo
i like the P-Lin Evoloution that is a Copolymer not nessarily a Mono
and Braid its 65lb Power Pro

If your gonna throw frogs on it, then braid is just about a must have.
