need some ideas ASAP: Increaded water flow

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas of some sure strategies when the water flow is MAJORLY increased on a river system that had a shallow spinnerbite on before the increase. Also a plastics on the edges of ponds in the backwater, fairly close to the river... basically the backwater area is part of the old river and directly off and very effected by the current.

I would try flippin a jig or worm in some of the current breaks behind logs, big rocks, bushes, etc. but that is just me
