for pegging lead bullet weights i just break off a toothpick, and throw the weight out when done with it because the picks stuck in there. what about the more expensive tungstens? is there a way to peg them so they can be reused later

I like to keep them warm in my underbritches before fishing in the winter time.![]()
Use a paper clip to push it back out...It's a little easier a couple days later after the tooth pick dries out and shrinks.
I took and old buzz bait, cut the head and the blade off and use the longer shaft that used to be attached to the head. As Wristpin said it is allot easier to wait a couple days and pop it out when the tooth pick is dry.

Don't use toothpicks to peg tungsten weights. Tungsten is a lot harder that lead and you will get line breakage. Use the rubber pegs for pegging tungten or the new Smart Pegs that Tru-Tungsten sells for tungsten weights. With either one you can slide the weight up the line without damaging the line. Also, it's good practice to re-tie more often when using tungsten weights.
The best thing to use is the little rubber bobber stops. Put one onto your line and then your sinker and hook, and then slide the bobber stop down snug against your sinker, it will hold your sinker in place..
