I use a short handled 6'6" Furnace Bay crankbait rod, 15 lb test Izorline, on a Curado 100B. Rod has a really soft tip but good backbone, biggest I've got on that outfit if about 5.5 lbs.
i use a 7'M falcon cara reaction series rod with 10l suffix line
6,6 foot medium action rod with 10 to 14 lbs. line
7ft St. Croix Avid(AC70MF) rod with medium action/fast tip
Team Daiwa Fuego reel
10-12lb Sunline Sniper FC fluoro
I have a few but still haven't found anywhere to throw them yet. I just assumed I would use the same crankbait rod I use for the others. Is that wrong? Is there a difference in these baits that would require another setup?![]()

For me it tends to be a close range technique, so I use a little shorter rod with a shorter handle, and little heavier line. I've actually come across an old 6'6" composite pistol-gripped Garcia rod I'm thinking about trying.

I dont think so, I try to parrell the bank anyway so I still want a pretty long cast, I might up grade the line a little go from 10 to 12 but thats about it!
7ft Daiwa Glass crankin rod... 20# test whatever, basic reel...
The 20# test is the key... bigger dia. makes the bait run shallower. Also casts great. Big bass shallow water, I like to have 20# on for that...
