Drop-shotting failure

why is it I keep braking off at the hook knot when I use the drop-shot rig? I was really breaking off bad with floro and switched back to mono, cause it stretches a bit, but I still keep breaking off, but not as bad? I'm using the palomar knot and I'm not crossing their eyes when I set the hook! just a simple pull, I retie often to prevent breakoffs, but I still breakoff at the worst times too! what's the deal?

Are you spitting on the knot when you pull it tight?

wetting the knot?putting the tag back through the ''top'' of the eye?
these are more reasons I use fireline 8# test plus you can feel fish thinking of putting the bait in their mouth
