    Dumb Spark Plug Question

In the spark plug number there are numerical digits (ie QC12PEPB and QC10WEP) the numbers 12 and 10. I understand these are the heat rating for the plug. Does that mean that the 12 plug runs hotter than the 10 plug?

I told you I was a bit of a noob.

Actually for Champion plugs, a 2 digit number is for a special application sparkplug and does not necessarliy refer to the heat range, just the design.

With their single digit plugs, such as J4C and J6C, the number reflects the heat range. The J6C is a hotter plug than the J4C, a J8J is hotter than the previous 2 plugs.
