I've seen that people have said that seasoners have their problems with them.

Why would people put themselves through the backlashes even after years of using baitcasters when there are much easier spincasts on the market. Im new at the baitcaster world so I would just like to know the benefits of them and why people say they would choose them over anythingelse, hands down?

it really comes down to personal preferance(I think)but with a baitcaster I can cast further, straighter and for me with more accuracy!
when I throw a spinning rig it always seems to lob up in the air letting any wind take it where it wants to go!and for me its almost impossible to flip/pitch with one!
and I tried carolina rigging with one ''ONCE'' never again the further I tried to cast it the shorter it went and if I tried a soft cast it went straight up and sploosh about 30 feet away(not good for C-rig!!
then there is the bigstick issue Ive never seen a heavy action spinning rod most are med/hvy or med. and lighter
but I know people that wont fish with anything else but spinning even when they know how to cast baitcasters(thats just what they prefer)
I use mine for dropshotting light weights(under3/8oz) but also use a B/C for the heavier D/Shot

lure control is much easier for most people with a baitcaster compared to a spinning or spincast reel, especially when flipping or pitching. A baitcaster allows you to "thumb" the line, allowing for more accurate casts. Also with technology like super free spool systems, etc, let you cast a lot farther.

I had that same attiude when I started fishing..."All I need is this Zebco..I can hang"

    Wrong!

When it comes to absolute accuracy, you can't beat a baitcaster...go fishing with someone who is good with one and bring your spincaster..try to keep up and put it where he puts it....

Spinning tackle does have it's place...I use mine for skipping under docks, and for throwing things like roadrunners when the bite is tough....

For worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits, it's hard to beat a good baitcaster, though I am sure there are some people with spinning tackle that could whoop me anyday...but for the average fisherperson, learn the baitcaster! Abu Garcias are great reels to learn on, IMHO...I still use several for heavier lures.

Pitching is underhand casting with a low trajectory just above the water and a very quiet entry. Flipping is not a cast, really as you only use the line that you have out and pull the line and lift the rod then allow that same amount of line back out at the same time while dropping the rod tip/

Most flipping rods are around 71/2 - 8' which means you have about twice that amount of line plus a few feet rangiing somewhere in the 15-17' range as max distance to flip and then the depth of usually 2-3'

For pitching you can reach distances of 25-35' or more

I rarely get a backlash but it does happen, but I had knots in spinning gear and spincasting gear as well, so I figure there is no "Perfect" reel.

I grew up with baitcasting reels s in the 60's and 70's so they are what works for me, and yes they are by far the easiest to control in my opinion, and make silent casts
