The lower ratio 3.8:1 is ideal for crankbaits. It ensures you do not over work the baits.
The 6.2:1 would be a good choice for worms, or jigs, as it allows you to take up slack line quickly and set the hook. It would also be a good choice for baits like a buzzbait or maybe Rat-L-Trap so you could retrieve with less effort and still move the baits quickly enough.
The 5.o:1 is just an ideal "All around" ratio for just about everything. I would use if oriarily for spinnerbaits, or topwaters, but you could vary the retrieve if needed and use it for any of the baits mentioned above as well.
