evinrude 225 e225stle 1993 model,
just got powerhead rebuilt, hasnt worked right since.
took it back to the shop and they said it has no spark on cylinders 4 and 5. They also said they are having a very hard time diagnosing it..
any advice on diagnosing this or has anyone run into this.
I know it had spark before rebuild also, and he said it was sparking good when he delivered it. thanks for any advice
It is rare for 2 cylinders from opposite banks to fail. Possible powerpack or timer base, but ask them if they removed the flywheel and checked the magnets for cracking or looseness.
The motor needs 300-350 rpm cranking speed to generate good ignition.

he says he has it fixed, supposedlt the keyway on the flywheel was sheared
picked it up today and he said it started acting up again, and he was able to test the timer base when it was acting up anf it was bad. What does the timer base do?
