    Fuel/Water Separator on 2000 Johnson 150 J150PLSSC

    Hi,

I was wanting to know if this engine has a fuel/water separator installed from the factory and if so where is it located? If not how can I avoid water vapor build up in fuel lines? Would it be ok to mount an external separator between the gas tank and engine or would this most likely damage the engine due to a lean condition? Thanks for any assistance

BTW: This is on a 2000 Triton TR-186

    Re: Fuel/Water Separator on 2000 Johnson 150 J150PLSSC (kehi66)

I have the same motor and the motor itself doesn't contain a filter/water separator. My boat came rigged with an external filter assy. mounted inside the rigging compartment. It's located between the tank and the primer bulb.

It doesn't seem to have any negative effects on the motor that I can tell.
