Evinrude Ficht 225 Thermostats

I have read a few times that upgrading/replacing the fichts thermostats to the etecs thermostats is a good idea. Can anyone tell what the benefit is and also a part # and where/how to change the thermostat?

Running the QC10WEP plugs in combination with the E-Tec thermostats increases the operating temperature. Allowing the plugs to last much longer than the QC12PEP plugs. Combine that with XD100 and the engine will run great with no carbon buildup. My 2000 200 DI has never run better since making the change.

The housing is at the top of each head.
