    VRO OMS pressure test

VRO or OMS pumps- at idle, should they show a constant output pressure, or does it go up when they pump cycles and then gradually drop down until the next cycle?

With my OMS pump, at 800 RPMs the pressure would gradually drop from 7 to 3.5 PSI within 15 to 18 second cycles. When it reaches about 3.5 it immediately jumps back to 7, and then gradually drops again within the next 15 to 18 seconds. Then the cycle repeats. Is this normal, or should the pressure remain fairly constant?

Thanks- and I also came across that article.

I did get the answer on another forum - http://www.themarinedoctor.com. It should output 5 to 7 psi - constant. I guess I'll open up the pump and see if I can identify the leak. If I do find a leak, such as a pin hole in one of the diaphragms, I'll order a rebuild kit. If not, I'll assume its the housing and order a new pump.
