There was a Blue crab found on the Chowan River Friday. It was up past 13 bridge.
My neighbor runs a crabbing business and told me the bad water in the Sound is pushing the crabs up in the rivers. I guess by bad water he means lack of oxygen.
About 20 years ago caught a 12" Flounder in the nottoway just outside of courtland
Ive caught flounder on the Perquimans and my old fishing buddy, Rodger has seen dolphins on the Perquimans...generally not a good sign!
They are everywhere this year. I could have taken a net and caught a 1/2bushel of nice ones in Mattawoman (Potomac River),last week. Would have paid for my tripSome of the best looking ones I've seen in years.

Brian, I've never heard of a crabbing license outside of a commerical license. But I'm no expert in the area either....
I was fishing in a few creeks off the sound last fall & I was catching bass while jellyfish where swimming by. Talk about weird!
