Thursday Evening Chick Results 8/12

Well, we had 12 boats brave the weather this evening. Of course we had lightning and thunder which drove some boats off the water early. The tide was extremely high.

1st Place.......John Angle & Gene Pettengill......................5.15lbs

2nd Place......Paul & Andy Shattuck.................................1.10lbs

Big Fish went to our 1st place team..................................2.8lbs

Congrats to these guys...

My partner and I came off the water at 6:30 and weighed our only fish and threw him back....It turns out he was 2.9lbs which would have given us second place and big fish if only we had waited.

It was nice to see Brian Douglass and his son join us this evening.

Brian was pumped to join you guys but bummed about the weather. He and his oldest boy was run off the golf course earlier in the day, and then he and the youngest packed it in early in the tournament from the lightening.

I told him I recall someone saying you guys get stormed on every Thursday night!

Hope you guys catch braek at the next one.

Thanks Dan good to see you and Mike. I was suprised how high the water was. Looked and saw we had a good tide so thought it would be a good tourn. to bring him on and catch some fish. I probably would of been dumb enough to stick it out through the lightening but having my 8yr old with me wasn't going to take a chance I think we got back about 6:45. Seeing the weight looks like it was tough for everyone. Maybe we will try again in a couple of weeks.

For some reason everywhere I went yesterday seemed to attract lightening. Somebody must of been telling me something.

Always a lesson to be learned Dan...I talked to guys at the Pamunkey Mini-Series that did the same thing and they pay like 6 and 8 places. 5.5 lbs got a check in the last 2 events.

What a humbling Thur evening of fishing...! Not 1 bite, a couple blowups, that's it! Hopefully, I can redeem myself this Sun @ Lake Smith in our Rule 9 tx.

I hate to hear that these are over the end of Aug. I finish my classes by then and was planning on fishing them more often in Sept.

Glad you made it yesterday. Wish the weather would of been nice. Funny thing is as soon as you left the weather eased up and it just rained a little bit. We only had one fish that got off and one hit. Then I broke a CARROT STICK LTX that ruined my day. Won alot of money on that junk. Broke on the cast
