Congrats to Jeff "Hump" for a victory at the Potomac

We had our third tournament of the year on the Potomac Sunday. My first time ever fishing the area and when they told me it was shallow I had no idea what they meant. At times I thought my graph was messed up and would stick my rod down to check. Jeff picked up first and Bobby Pickens picked up second. Bobby also had big fish around 5lbs I think. Carlos and his wife came by it was nice to meet you guy's. Overall it was a poor day on the water. There were fish caught but small. They litterlly looked like footballs 14" fish with bellies ready to explode but the cold front came in and with the wind it was tough. Even an Osprey had trouble with his landing. It had built a nest on the side of the fuel pump building at a marina. The first attempt the wind won. Then he did a fly by and landing the third attemp.

Sounds like you enjoyed your trip. I fished there for the first time last year...so I know what you mean about thinking your graph was messed up

But those 14" footballs are fun to catch! Did you get any snakeheads???

It was nice to meet you all, you need to fish the River when the wind is not gusting to 25!!!!! That makes for an endurence contest!!!

Really though, it was nice to meet you all and hope you can come play again.

    Carlos

PS next time you have a get TX on the River, you will have to stop by the house. Sue dressed me down for not inviting you all by the house for some chow or something on your way out of town.

Carlos, - - I forwarded your kind offering on the place to stay to my nephew's wife and mother...VERY KIND OF YOU! That is really amazing, perfect strangers, and you make that offer like that! You Marines are awsome and take, "never leave a fellow Marine behind"..to your grave! They are very appreciative! Good news is Comando Brando (thats what I call him) will be back in NC Thursday, healing up and doing well. I plan to have a huge BBQ for him in June, maybe you guys can join us! Chesterfield County, 13 minutes south of the James. Take care and nice meeting you as well.

    Jeff,
Thanks for the kind words. The offer is still out there if any more visits re needed to Bethesda or to Walter Reed.

    HA on the nickname!

Also, thanks for the offer, if I am in town, I would be honored to attend.
