Work trip to Stuarts Draft, VA

I'll be in Stuarts Draft on a work trip sometime within the next few months.
I was wondering if it would be worth staying another day or so to try to get in a little fishing while I'm down there.
Are there any good lakes in that area?
    Any information is appreciated!

There is nothing really close to Stuarts Draft. Smith Mountain lake is about 2 hrs south. Kerr Reservoir is about 3hrs SE, Gaston is about the same. There are no fish in Anna which is about 1.5 hrs away (there are fish, i just can't catch them)

As time gets closer you can post dates, I may have a back seat available for a day if you feel like riding.

Perhaps the highlight of your visit could be a trip to the Hot side of Lake Anna. It is a nuclear reactor cooling pond. Bluesteel has access and gets a trip up every once in a while. Water temp there is probably the best around for winter fishing. ThunderCat, myself and dreamingBig all live around S.D. I'm a Stuarts Draft native originally, what kinda work you gonna be doing? Hershey, Little Debbie, Nibco, Hollister, Alcoa??

As stated, there is nothing much close to us with a boat.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you gonna be in Stuarts Draft for?

you can go out on Shendoah Acres, but I can't promise squat fishing in that pond. It's something though. But, if you want to drive down to Verona we have Middle River which can produce some pretty good fish. Other than that...I can't think of too many places.

Anna to me would be your best bet...me and C-Rigg got to hook up...because I have found my load of fish in Anna...hot and cold...but lately it's been slow!

Sounds like I'm better off packing light and fishing when I get back home instead!
