    Shenandoah River

Has anyone ever fished it? I went down there to check it out once...asked about the depth and running a bass boat in it. I heard it was deep enough, and then I heard it was too shallow....

what's the word fellas? what are the do's and don'ts of this fine river? What are you catching in this river as well..

I would say way to shallow. Only motors I've seen on there are jet drives and you would have to know how to navigate the river. Those rocks will jump right in front of you. Its good for a canoe.

Tyler, if you hit the Shen. at a place called Egypt's Bend you will be fine. I fished it last year. Bass boats are the norm on this stretch of river. It has a bucketload of fish too. There is a nice concrete ramp with courtesy dock also. This stretch of river is probably 3 miles long or so. Lots of slop and wood to fish. It's just outside Luray. The ramp is located on Egypt Bend Rd. The road is paved but has some narrow turns so just take it slow.

There are a couple of spots on the Shen that you can take your bassboat. I'd go with a local first to learn the river, as i can suddenly become quite shallow. I went with Ed Mawyer (C-rigg) last winter and was surprised at how fishable the river was. Why not send Ed an IM? He's a topnotch guy.

I fish the Shenandoah and you can run a bassboat at Egypt bend and just above the dam in Shenandoah. Some places you have to be careful as they are shallow. Good fishing to boot.

I appreciate the help fellas. I am looking to try it out once or twice. Does the river freeze over? It's pretty close to my home. 340 basically runs through my back yard...so I know this summer while I am home I will give it a go, if not sooner!

Best to show you around on both places then to try and explain running at either place. Best advice for running both places mentioned above would be STAY OUT OF THE MIDDLE!!!!!! But, I'll show you.
    IM sent.

P.S. Watch what that treeboy fella tells ya. I think he must have low expectations of peoples character.....
