Help rebuilding carbs on 1986 90hp johnson

First here is the info about my motor/1986 johnson model JTLCDC and serial number is J7138963 and I am in Miami FL.I need to rebuild my carbs and I'm trying to decide if I can do it or just remove them and take to a shop.I'm reading my shop manual and it says I need orifice driver p/n 317002,Do I really? I'm a good/ok mechanic but have never done this and don't have special tools, air or anything to clean/soak them in.I have the rebuild kits(2) and could drop off and pick up for about $100.I could also buy a lot off beer for $100.what do you guys think?

If you have never rebuilt carbs 100 bucks is well worth having them done correctly but there are things you need to know about reinstalling them.

There are a few other things that come with experience.....a light wallet.

Well I would have broken the fuel connector off anyway because I had to remove them and thats when it was broken. Is there anyway to repair/rethread this or should I go for the new unit? What about the reinstall?I guess I should be happy the part is available! Mike

    I would replace the bowl.
My only suggestion is be careful when reinstalling.
