01 225 rude ram tilt trim

i have a 2001 225 evinrude rude ram if it matters. my tilt and trim is weak and slow. dont know if its normal but drove a buddies boat the other day and its way faster. when i hit my button down, just bump it. it will drop another 1/2 in or so before it stops. may just be low on fluid. i found the release to let it down manuel but dont see where i can check to fill it or to see if it needs fluid. all i need to know is where to check this at and if you have any idea on anything else that it could be. motor is not running any different but have lost about 4 mph on gps. does not seem to be getting trimmed all the way out. let me know what you think.

Trim your motor all the way up. Support it on the trailer bracket and look on the right side of the trim assembly you will see a reservoir there. I has a large slot screw cap. That is where you add the fluid to. If you open it up and fluid comes out you are OK. If not that is where you add it.
