milky water coming out of hole near bottom of the motor

There is a hole in the lower unit, it appears to be a part of the design and not a crack or puncture. When the boat sits in the driveway and then I tilt up the motor to remove the transom saver, a bit of creamy liquid comes out of the hole. It is located towards the front of the lower unit, about 2 inches below the plate. One of my friends thinks it is just a drain hole and the milky water is just dirty water. Some of them think I have a bad seal and it is lower unit oil.

If this a cause for concern? The motor is a new 225 Evinrude ETEC HO with about 5-6 hours on the motor and has never hit anything, prop is brand new with no nicks.

You have a lower unit leak. Fairly easy fix with the kit you can get from your dealer. It will take about 1.5 hours to do it yourself. $150-200 for the dealer to do it.

If the motor is new then this should be a warranty issue. I'd discuss with dealer that you purchased the motor from and ask what the correct next steps would be. Unless I've got it wrong, you spent $15,000 +/- for the motor and have a warranty for any problems. Good luck.

Thanks, yes the motor is brand new and under warranty. I will bring it in.
