    H1N1 Vaccines

I'm curious if those that are wanting the vaccine are having a hard time getting it. The Hampton Health Department has been very helpful in this area. Myself and 5 other family members have been vaccinated and its free of charge. The lines are long though. If interested, I recieved the fol dates from health department for future clinics:

Nov 12 Hampton High School - for children 6 months to 18 years. They do not need to be Hampton residents. Shots start at 4...I would be in line by 3.

Nov 14 Hampton Health Department (Victoria Rd) - Its advertised for folks at high risk or with health problems but they do not require any paperwork/proof. Pretty much all of us here qualify due to our advanced ages! I think this one starts early in the morning on a Saturday. Again, you do not need to be a resident of Hampton.

Hope this is helpful to those that are interested. If we didnt have a newborn...Im not sure how seriously I would take this.

Horrible in Chesterfield. One of the twins already had the virus, the other could not get the vaccine from our physician because the schools come first (understandable), although the fact that they are twins would indicate that they are both in school toghther, and live in the same home. So the wife and kids stood on line for 4.5 hrs watching everyone, but their classmates get the shot. You know, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, 1 yr old sister/brother, etc, all of the high riskfolks.

I personnaly have no desire for the shot, but my kids who ARE in the high risk category should be given the opportunity. HEII, I tried to pay for it and could not get it for them

would it be considered rude to say that since I work in healthcare, I got it the day our hospital received their supply, AND that I didn't have to wait?

If it is, then I don't wanna tell you my H1N1 vaccination status.

My wife is a nurse so we got it first also because of the possibility of contracting H1N1

Don't get me started. I wouldn't get a vaccine of any kind, especially flu. It is a virus, which is an airborne thing. To be effective the vaccine would need to be administered thru your nasal passages.
