My 2005 225 HO was repaired with the new L2 gearcase. my question is.....my old prop was a 27 pitch, will I need to reprop for maximum performance ? Thanks

You need to find out what the gear ratio is. The g/r in my 250HO is 1.71, but just because it has the L2 doesn't mean you have the 1.71. If you do have 1.71, no you will not be able to launch the same. Further more if you can find a 26 BravoI with dual PVS holes , try it!
If it was replaced under warranty you would receive a 1.86:1 ratio gear case, the L2 is available in both 1.86:1 and 1.71:1.
