VMRC Boating accident

Recently ive been doing alot of shutter bug stuff. Well yesterday I bought a new lens for my camera. I meet the guy at the racetrac in Smithfield and on my way back to Newport News I figured id stop by the beach at the park by the JRB fishing pier and see how good the lens works.
As im pulling into the parking lot I See a couple of VMRC trucks and figured id shoot some pictures. I snap a couple pictures and pull over and see a good friend who works with VMRC standing there looking a DESTRYOED fron end of a VMRC boat.
They had no idea what the officer hit, but the boat is damaged pretty good, the officer went to the hospital all beat up with a suspected broken arm and coovered in blood.
Well when I got home and down loaded the pictures I was amazed I actually had gotten pictures of the boat damage and didnt even know it. THought id share them with yall.

Ceratinly didn't hit a Floater,damage too high up, looks like he hit a piling.

Whatever he hit was at least 4 feet high looking at the damage. He had to hit a piling or another boat.

Early report is he hit one of the large power line poles that run along the James river Bridge from Newport News to the Suffolk side.It appears it was near the small boat channel.He sustained some pretty serious injuries to the face and arms.

I went across the bridge yesterday morning and it looks like they are adding/replacing power wires and there seemed to me that they had wires in the water with nothing on them so people can see them. There were alot of tugs/barges and cranes out there to. My guess is that he had to hit the big cables that were laying in the water or one of the barges. I came back across it around 2ish and saw a police boat going towards the SBC. My back door neighbor is a marine police, I will get the real story when I see him. After looking at the pics I really think he hit the cable. Glad it didn't kill him.
