    Finally back....

Well, hope all had Happy New Year !

I am just now getting back up and online. I got home saturday night from hunting all week, and found the house had been broken into and about $12,000 worth of stuff is gone.

ALL my fishing rods and reels are gone, my Humminbird SI is gone, laptop computer, and a lot of hunting electronics (GPS, rangefinder, etc). They even took all the venison I had in the freezer (about 100 lbs worth) !!

They took my monitor and keyboard, so I had to find replacements, and they no longer make anything but widescreen monitors, and the model keyboard I had is discontinued as well.

They were pretty stupid, and they didn't take my $1200 archery setup, they didn't even appear to open the case, and they left $1000 of digital cameras sitting on the shelf right above the computer monitor.

The thing they took that bothers me the most, is an antique 110 yr old American Waltham pocketwatch someone gave me several years ago is missgin as well.

And now, I am wondering if I need a new computer, as they had literally ripped the connectors off the back. Everythign seems to be working but my cd player, and I need it to load the software for my new monitor.

Anyway, I should have known it was gonna be a bad year when I missed 2 10 pt + bucks in 3 days !!!! But I did get the antler off one, as I hit it with the buckshot......

It took my almost 4 hrs to clean up the fingerprint dust, and I didn't get any sleep that night from the cops being here till almost 4 am. Yall cops need to find some dut that doesn't stick to everything...LOL.

    Dang Mark that really sucks...

Had it happen to me a few years back...on July 4th while I was out fishing. They didn't get that much, but they trashed everything they got thier hands on.

I hope they catch the bastages that did this to you, and I hope your insurance pays off as quickly as mine did!

    Re: Finally back.... (funkja)

I am certain the next door neighbors either did it or know who did it.

I still am trying to figure out what is gone....

and I am thinking now I may need a new computer, as this one is acting very weird.....I think them ripping the connectors out of the back and maybe dropping it has messed it up somewhat

oh no Mark...I am so sorry.....hope they catch them!

I know what you mean about the fingerprint dust...it's awful. Tell your insurance company, they should pay to have the house cleaned, carpet, etc. There are companies that do it, crime scene clean up...I have a list at work if you need numbers...I know Serv -Pro is one of them.

sorry to hear Mark, hope you catch them.

like Levi said though, keep an eye out, most theifs are stupid--- had a friend that owned a hobby shop once, got broken into and lost a bunch of R/C stuff. about a week later the dumb a$$'s brought the stuff back for help because they didn't know what to do with it. he held them at gunpoint untill the cops showed up to collect them.

    Re: Finally back.... (TRCM)

Sorry to hear about this, but the bad thing is we all need to step up or "security" because with the economy and unemployment this is going to happen a lot more !!
Turn everything in on insurance even if it was slightly damaged...they should cover it. Most of the items they took were probably untraceable.
One thing I do is engrave my last 4 of my social on everything now. That way I can identify it in pawn shops or peoples hands. If you think it was your neighbors don't confront them just watch and keep a video recorder handy. I caught my neighbor years ago like this....he had stolen some stuff in the neighborhood and I noticed he did a lot of night time stuff so I shut the lights out everynight about 10:00 and watched and waited....6 days later he loaded the stuff in his truck and was stopped after he left by a phone call to the police and they used my video to convict him as he had dropped the stuff off already. Hope they catch them !!

Sorry for your loss. Another headache that you shouldn't have to deal with. Hopefully they will get caught. It does sound like someone knew you were away.

    Re: Finally back.... (RedShad)

Lea, I cleaned it up, and the insurance is gonna pay me for it. I really had no choice, if I wanted to live in the house and clean the mess up and find out what was taken (still finding stuff missing by the way).

The problem is, I was gone 11 days, and it appears the ropbbery took place 7 days before I got back, so a lot of the stuff is probably long gone.

Make us a list of things to watch out for and I know a lot of us here will be on the lookout for these things...some things are hard to sell on the crime market.
