Sounds good, if you get paired with the right pro. I think the experience would be invaluable well worth 100 bucks.

Its all good until the pros get pissed when they are doing bad and tell you to shut the hell up !! In my opinnion this won't do too well even though you have some people that will pay it. With the economy the way it is they might want to stay like they were.

Actually I wrote a letter to both espn and bass last year about this very thing. Evidently I must not have been the only one. I think it is a fantastic idea. Can you imagine drawing KVD for the day.

    Re: the marshal program? (tuckerabbi)

I signed up for this a few weeks back. As soon as I did my status showed "on the waiting list". Not sure what that means, but I got an email stating I would be notified of my "tournament status" soon. Haven't heard anything yet.

My buddy's brother paid the fee and fished the co-angler side once. He was very unhappy with the outcome. The pro he drew basically backended him the entire time and was very closed mouth about evrything that he was doing.

Hopefully, as KVD stated, with the abscence of actually trying to fish while you're with the pro, the relationship will be more open and less stressed. But again, I'm sure it will depend on which pro you draw.

Whatever happens, I signed up for the Blue Ridge Brawl on SML. I have family living at the lake so lodging/food expenses aren't an issue, and I can turn it into a 4-day weekend trip for the wife and I. Worst case scenario...I paid $100 for a T-shirt...

If you are lucky enough to know one of the pros can you still prefish with them?

I looked at the list also but found that SML is the same weekend as the Kerr Region TX. So I'll have to wait until next year...

Maybe you need to be quiet. My understanding is you observe...And maybe adjust camera angle. I get the impression that your pro might give information. I might be wrong (LOL), but I did not see where you were supposed to be advising or questioning the pro...unless he offers....

You may be correct...I have gone on hearing thru the grapevine...I get a lot of inside information thru ABA and the weekend series directors and a few other sources. Then if you think about it how hard would it be to keep your mouth shut all day, hell I know it would be near impossible for me... Maybe I am too much of a sceptic on change...if its not broke don't fix it has always been my philosophy. Hell they wouldn't be able to fish if they took my advice....lol

    Re: the marshal program? (bassnva123)

You can learn alot just in the parking lot with most of these guys, My problem is remembering what I was told and heared when I get home!!!!! Most of them will stop and talk with any one in the parking lot of most events. Then if you take your boat and watch them on the water you will be able to see just how they WORK! Its alot of fun, If any one is thinking about going for the week check out Smith Mountain State Park they have cabins as well as camping.
