How are the deer hunters out there doing this year.

I know a lot of you deer hunt. I am pretty psyched this year is the first in around 4 that I have had land to bow hunt. Have been out every weekend so far, no luck, just like my fishing. Had a giant 8 come out 2nd weekend like 20 yards broadside to me and my friggin release broke when I started to draw. This past weekend had a young six come in that I passed on and then a good doe that would not present for a shot. Seeing lots of deer but these three where the only close enough to shoot. How is every body else doing so far? Last weekend looks like they really started to chase so this weekend should be good.

Had 1 cow horn, 1sm buck missing one side, and a doe come in yesterday with in 10yds. yesterday and they all saw me in the tree, I played like i was sleep it was funny looking at them trying to figure me out. Today saw a doe come in the field for 20mins then went back in. Friends of mine all seen nice deer so far this year. I hit the rattle last week and 6 different deer came in, I'm waiting for the monster to show up . with in the next 2 wks you should that giant come in again. get a rattle bag they really work. btw don't rattle real hard, med-soft thats it. If you rattle to hard it might scare more deer than draw them in.

They are chasing big time in New Kent and Charles City counties. My oldest son got a 4 pt with the bow and passed up a bunch of deer, but muzzleload has been awesome. My youngest 14 yr old son got a 10 pt not very wide just 15 inches and saw 8 other bucks including 2 he said were over 20 inches. I saw 6 bucks all were small. After the rain gets outa here it should be good.

Got three so far this year. Shot a doe in early October here in Chesapeake then went to New Hope, NC and shot a 9 pt down there and then back up here in Ches. I shot a 8 pt. Having a good year so far....the clubs largest deer this year in a 13 pt buck 20 1/8" wide. Again another chesapeake deer.

Bucks have been thick here the last week or so. I took a nice 8 yesterday, a nice 8 last week, and a 4 point (kill permit) as well. All have been over 200 lbs. Yesterday every deer I saw was a buck, but I had 3 guests that took 3 does yesterday. A good year for large deer so far.

Funny you should ask but I talked to the guy who smokes venison for me today. Problem is he was one of the guys that got hit by the Tornados back in the summer. He said he cant do anything till mid december this year so I gotta wait this year but I figure we should be needing some work order sheets soon. So a bag of jerky for say 1000???

Wouldn't be the first time I traded work for food. Once gave a lady 100 personal note pads for 2 dozen of her homemade chocolate chip cookies w/walnuts.

I've not had but two opportunities to get out so far this season. All I've gotten was a 10 pt and a small 8 with a little basket rack.

One of the guys that live here at Tunis killed one last week

I think it was an 8 pointer...Weighed about 160 lbs. Killed in the woods around here somewhere in Tunis.

Seriously, I need a place like that. I'll be out there again tomorrow. Plan on spending the bulk of the day in the woods. Will only come out for an hour at lunch time, have to climb down at that time anyway to relocate to my afternoon spot. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day.
