Boats fixed! But trailer is damaged now!

Okay I will start this on a positive note...well I took my boat in the this morning and they replaced the starter under warranty and it started right up! Woohoo...now for the bad news, on the way home an 83yr old lady rolled through a red light and hit my truck and boat trailer. What luck I have! The good news no one was hurt, the boat itself was not damaged and it appears I will be getting some trailer work done now and a new spare tire with wheel!

Glad no one was hurt though!

Make sure you check the trailer & hitch very closely.

I didn't find out my truck had been hit hard in the hitch until I got my boat. I noticed driving, there was a lot more clunking than normal from the hitch.

It turns out the truck had been hit hard enough in the hitch to oval out the pin eye, and they previous owner had even went so far as to weld up the cracks in the side plates.

I put a new hitch on, and voila, no more clunking from the pin moving front to rear as you took off and stopped.
