    Battery Question?

I'm trying to move and have not had time to get the boat out for a while now. My 3 lithium's are showing 87% on the app so I think I'm good there. My 2 wet cells are tied together. One for cranking and the other for my graphs. They were charged about 3 weeks ago and today they show 12.57 and 12.58. Should I charge them?

Since the lead/acids are "tied together" one would think they would have the same voltage. They are at almost 100% and since you can parallel them you should have no issues with them.

87% on the Lithiums is concerning, and since they will charge at a constant current profile I'd hit them with an hour or so. However since they are trolling motor they won't be in danger of leaving you stranded.

Why is 87% concerning ? Maybe I should have said that they are 100AH. 87% is where they wound up after my last outing. They appear to be holding at that percentage.

I've always been told that lithiums shouldn't be stored at 100% or near 0 for long periods, but somewhere in the middle.

If my lithiums show 70 or above I go fish. I can fish for few days on a full charge. 87% is fine. Lead acid is a hard to say. The voltages sound fine. Top them off and go fish. You'll know if they're good or bad after some use.

Well it's gonna be a while before I can fish. I'll top off the wet cells while I'm out here in the garage packing. Ughh !

Yes, top off the wet cells and leave the lithiums alone. CJ

Put the wet cells on a battery monitoring low amperage charger and check once in a while. Lithium battery situation I would check closer to winter. If you don’t use them before then.

Of all the chargers that I have I'm not sure I have one like you suggest Ron. Haven't packed the chargers yet so maybe......
