Smartstrike won’t pull up

Have a helix 10 gen1 and helix 7 gen 3

I just got a minnesota smartstrike card and I cannot get the smartstrike menu/options to pull up (tried it on both units)

all the lakes and contour lines and everything work fine, but cannot get/find smartstrike options

any help?

Are you trying on a HD lake? Only works on HD, Look at the list of lakes for that card and the HD lakes are BOLD.

Access to the SmartStrike settings can be two different ways depending on the unit software.
The old way is the check mark button.
The new way is the Chart view MENU button.

I’ve tired both ways, called Humminbird and they said I cannot have an active cursor to access the menu. So basically, I have to be on the lake to access it…. I believe

The Helix 12 CHIRP MSI GPS G4N I have on my desk must be broken.
Using the MENU button, I get the SmartStrike setting with or without an active map curser and doing Normal or Simulator. Get the same thing using a VX regional map card or a single lake Chart Select download with the SmartStrike file. I chose a lake about 150 miles from me, set the details and have the pink icons up to the 500' zoom level and then the pink highlighting for closer zoom ranges.

Not saying you’re wrong Wayne. But mine simply won’t do it.

I can go into the HB Chart menu, select an HD lake, and try the same buttons and it only gives me Lat/long coordinate data

This is the sequence I have:

With the Chart View displayed, push the MENU button and get this:



Select SmartStrike and get this:



Select a location and get this:




Select the critera and Execute:

The map curser location is 337 miles from my house. I did not move the map curser from my house until after I had done those settings. That is in Normal operation.

If I start over and this time move the map curser to the location and push the MENU button, I don't get the SmartStrike menu. That is different than what I did yesterday.

If I start in Simulator, the position curser is at Lake Lanier. If I move the map curser to the above location and push the MENU button, I get the SmartStrike menu.

Soooo, it looks like in Normal you don't get the SmartStrike menu with the map curser displayed, but in Simulator you do get the SmartStrike menu with the map curser displayed.

Well….. I figured out the issue.

The person I bought the card from send me a Lakemaster plus micro card inside the SmartStrike adapter.
